Ripped for Valentines

First off, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE! This was actually the outfit that I sported to the aquarium this past weekend. I absolutely love this jumper from Romwe. Not only the fake ripped detailing but it strangely feels like a home knit sweater. Did it protect me from the ocean breeze? Maybe not so much but luckily we weren't looking at extremely harsh winds along the coast. The ripped tights have been a part of my closet for about a year now. Purchased them from GoJane and they've been a staple in my leggings drawer since. I've gotten tons of complements on these pre-slashed mesh under layer babies.

On another note, for those of you who don't already know Mint Green is one of my best gal friends and also my ultimate blogging buddy. She recently ventured to teach in Korea. My gal friends and I threw together an "away-from-home" basket and said our "see ya laters" as she left the country over the weekend. If you're reading this, you are missed!

Aquarium Day

Location: Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach CA.

I absolutely love aquariums. Especially ones that allow you to touch the sea animals! This weekend, I went on a little last minute trip to the aquarium with a few of my gal friends. Not only was it nice to see all the awesome coral and water life creatures, but being able to spend some quality girl time (that does not involve late night outings in the city) definitely felt great. Even though we were all in our twenty somethings, you could imagine the youthful glow in our faces when we found out we got to touch JELLY FISHES! We ran around like children, touching things, gazing at octopus and various tropical fishes, and getting our booklets stamped at various stations. At the shark lagoon, we got to pet sharks and sting rays. Ending the night with a walk on the pier (which was awkwardly romantic) we joked about how it felt like we were on a Pre-Valentines date and treated ourselves to some funnel cake.

Sorry for the lack of quality in the pictures, it was definitely convenient to prance around in the dark rooms with my little point and shoot. Oh, if you guys haven't noticed I also decided to sport some bangs hehe.

Like a Dream

This outfit was sort of thrown together without much thought. A basic spring outfit of mine you could say with my favorite chiffon blouse and shorts (I still love anything chiffon). Picked up these shorts last week at Forever 21 and loved how they hugged my waist like high waisted shorts.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. As for myself, been feeling under the weather lately. Seems like California is a little confused as to what it wants to do. One day it'll be a gorgeous day with highs of 70 degrees and today the weather forecast says it'll be raining with a high of 73. I've also been wearing this "Rebel Pendant" necklace and "Sole" bracelet on the daily.

Recently, I've been finding it hard to think of post titles. Resolution; naming it after the most played song on my itunes at the moment. Given that, you guys know I love sharing lovely tunes with you guys. Here is "Like A Dream" by Day Trip!

DIRTY LOVE

I find myself already starting to fill my closet with springs goods. Always eye balling the neon brights and pastels when I shop.  My top and shorts were purchased from 20/20 Ave and to my surprise, I received my order the next day (talk about ultra fast shipping)! I tend to love tops with pockets on them, and the fact that this tank top was neon cherry red made it all the better for my spring closet. I've also been getting tons of compliments on this "Rebel Pendant Necklace" which was one of the pieces a received at the bloggers event I mention in my previous post. Love how its super simple but also has great weight to it.

In addition, my neon craze has probably come early this year because of this video. Not only do I love how bright her wardrobes are, her song also makes me want to wreak a little havoc around town.

Pink Pleats

Last week I was invited by a fellow blogger gal friend to attend our first blogger event at Blushington.  Upon our arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcome along with champagne and cupcakes! We were given a tour of the newest Stella and Dot collection, a make-over, and at the end given ultra cute goody bags. This gorgeous "Luna Wrap Bracelet" was just one of the goodies. Its elegance was perfect for this firty pleated dress. I've been unintentionally purchasing clothing from spring colored palettes. Can't wait to show you guys the other great pieces!

On a side note, I also attended a last minute DineLA deal this weekend at Cafe Bizou. It was probably the cheapest DineLA I've attended with a three course meal for just $16. The lobster bisque was delish with the perfect combination of flavor and creamy goodness ( ones I've had before were too salty). As for my main course I devoured the Lobster, Shrimp, Scallop ink pasta ( first time having black pasta) which could have had a little more flavor to it. Ended the meal with yummy Tiramisu!

Hello there, Sunshine.

(Forever 21 Skirt/Top/Necklace | "Around Town" Heels  - Nine West)

What a transition it was going from about 5 layers of clothing to well, almost no layers back here in California. Back home the sun shines bright , hitting the 70 degrees-ish range this week! I decided to pair an Aztec print top with my favorite black asymmetric skirt here. I've had this necklace for a few months now. Puts the chunky in chunky necklaces with it's layers of gold and leather. Not exactly a casual "lets go out with friends" look, but I wanted to take advantage of the warm weather that we have here and play a little dress up. 

Yay for it almost being Friday. A little quirky song to get you pumped up for the weekend!

A Chicago Winter

(Coat & Faux Fur Scarf - H&M | Pants - Zara | Necklace & Sweater & Boots - Forever 21)

This coat has been in my closet for a few years now because it never got cold enough in California for me to take it out for a spin. The large buttons and pocket details on it make it look almost cartoon-like ( I call it my Madeline coat). With its forest green color, it breaks the tradition of black and gray coats without being overwhelmingly bold. My faux fur scarf also did a great job in keeping me warm even though with all the layers I was only able to survive outside for about 10 minutes at a time. If you couldn't tell I was super excited to dress up for the snow and take pictures in the city streets. Satisfaction has been reached!
