Summer Basics

Summer Basics
We all love to dress up and look cute, but lets face it, on a hot summer day some of us enjoy just throwing on a basic tee and shorts. By adding accessories, these basic staples make up the perfect cute but comfortable outfit for the summer heat. Below is an interesting article listing some basic items with some versatile styling tips!

"Four Summer Essentials to Keep Cool and Chic
Fads and fashions come and go. And though it can be tempting to buy all the latest trends at once, the truth is that you can end up looking like a dog’s dinner. If you want to ensure that you always look chic, choose timeless designs that suit every shape, and never go out of style. If you want to keep cool and chic this summer, whilst presenting an image of timeless elegance, get hold of these four summer essentials.

Shift Dress
The shift dress is a classic shape that suits most figures, and can be easily dressed up or down for daytime and evening. If you want to get the most use out of your shift dress, choose something in a light colour and avoid patterns. This will give you lots of opportunity to accessorise with different jewellery, belts, shoes and bags, allowing you to change your look whenever you want to.

Palazzo Pants
1920’s style was a firm favourite on this year’s catwalks, and if you want to wear the trend – and still look good in years to come – invest in some palazzo pants. Wide leg trousers suit everyone, and are the perfect way to look timelessly elegant in comfort. You can wear them during the day with a T-shirt, or team them with a luxurious cami in the evening. These trousers work well with heels or flats, and are really easy to wear.

White shirt
A crisp, white shirt is a style staple, and something that should be in every woman’s wardrobe. Choose something that fits you well and avoid frills, puff sleeves or collarless shirts if you want to get the most wear possible. Opt for quality – like the shirts availablefrom Cotton Traders – if you want to buy something that will last and look great with lots of different outfits. A crisp, white shirt is ideal for work, but can also easily be worn with jeans or shorts, giving you lots of options.

Tailored shorts
If you want a pair of shorts that you can wear in lots of different ways, go for something tailored. A navy or black tailored pair can be worn to work, or when you’re out and about in the warmer weather. You can easily dress up a pair of tailored shorts for the evening by adding a statement belt and some eye-catching accessories. Choose shorts that stop just above the knee, as this length will work well with heels or flats."

Build Me a Time Machine

( Dress - Forever 21 | Falcon Cuff - Ebay | Flats c/o MyHotShoes )
For the past week I've been going through the transition of occupying a new job and I just came back from a weekend trip to Las Vegas. Can't wait to share some major food porn from my trip. In the meantime, here was a mini lunch date some friends and I decided to take to Umami Burger. I've gone to about three different chains so far and none have disappointed. Blue hues paired with pale pinks have also been my new favorite color combination. These flats from MyHotShoes are the perrrr-fect Tory B. mocks with the perfect spring color at a fantastic price.
